Sharon Miller
Here is your chance to find out a little bit more about Sharon with our
desert island disks questionnaire...
What's the Best Bit About Your Job?
The best bit about my job is the satisfaction of seeing individuals achieve their personal goals
in relation to fitness and well being.
This can take a variety of forms from weight loss to increased fitness, improved self esteem or
completion of a 5k race to give just a few examples. Everyone is different, having individual needs and
goals. Seeing the change in those individuals is the most gratifying feeling.
What Do You Enjoy Doing When You're Not Working?
I enjoy
working out in the gym myself. I enjoy feeling fit and healthy and it helps me to keep a balance in my life.
I train hard during the week but enjoy relaxing and chilling out at the weekend. I enjoy spending time with
my partner Simon and my daughter Sophie. We have a shared passion for cooking and enjoy trying new
recipes together.
What's Your Favorite Drink
Well after a
hard session in the gym a long tall glass of chilled water tastes as good as anything, but to be honest I
also enjoy a chilled glass of white wine.
Favorite Foods?
I enjoy a
wide variety of foods. Anything from oven baked Salmon with roasted vegetables to a Dopiazza Chicken curry.
Generally however during the week, a salad with chicken or tuna would be my choice of
food.
Favorite Local Restaurant or Pub?
My favourite
restaurants at the moments are Chester's in Sowerby Bridge and the Brasserie on the Bull in Halifax.
Chester's offers such a varied menu always offering a good fish alternative which they change on a weekly
basis. Also the Brasserie on the Bull offers a great bar menu with unusual side dishes to great chunky chips,
good service too!
What's Been Your Most Embarrassing, Funny, Proud or Memorable
Experience?
There have
been many proud and memorable moments in my life from the birth of my daughter to many work achievements in
my previous career as a Human Resources Manager.
However in
terms of recent work 'proud moments' it has to be seeing a female client of mine who broke both wrists
towards the end of 2008 succeed in continued weight loss of 1 1/2 stone (to date) in what can only be
described as a period of rehabilitation. There have obviously been serious restrictions to her exercise
programme, but despite this she has achieved a significant weight loss and the resulting boost in self
confidence has been a very proud moment.
Desert Island Disc?
My desert
island disk would be the sound track from a movie called 'Elizabeth Town.' Not well known but serious chill
out music. Josh Groban may also sneak in to the rucksack too!
What's at the Top of Your 'Must Have' Experiences List Still to
do?
A still 'must do' experience is to go on a tall ship cruise around
the Caribbean. Seen the brochure, just need to save up the money to go!
